There's a new Buc-ee's look-alike south of the border, and Texas ' favorite travel stop is not amused. Luc-ky's, a Western -themed stop that appears to be modeled after Buc-ee's, has garnered attention in Texas after popping up in Estacion Manuel , Tamaulipas , Mexico. While the convenience stop uses a curved red font similar to Buc-ee's for its logo, the mascot looks a little different.

In 2019, it got a copycat store that cropped up in Amman, Jordan shut down. In 2023, a copycat store called BUK-II'S Super Mercado appeared in Matamoros, prompting threats of litigation from the Texas-based travel stop.
