Buc-ee’s has inquired about land in El Paso County.
Texas-based Buc-ee’s has opened its first store in Colorado. The 74,000-square-foot travel center, with 116 fuel pumps and 12 electric vehicle charging stations, is in Johnstown along Interstate 25.The company is still in the early planning stages and has inquired about the town annexing land for the potential gas station at County Line Road and Interstate 25, according to aThe Palmer Lake Board of Trustees has granted an eligibility hearing to the company that will take place Dec. 12.
“This hearing is not to annex the land, it is simply to determine if the owner is eligible to move forward in the process,” Havenar said in the post.The mayor added that if Buc-ee’s is determined to be eligible for annexation at the hearing, they would likely hold a series of community meetings. And a subsequent annexation request would also require public hearings.
