A 21-year-old man on an e-scooter was struck by a fire engine at a busy junction in Dartford, Kent, and is now in a serious condition at a London hospital.
An e-scooter rider has been seriously injured after being hit by a fire engine at a busy junction in Dartford , Kent . The 21-year-old man was approaching the junction when he was struck by the vehicle at around 10.40pm on Monday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, where paramedics treated the man before he was taken to a London Hospital. The man remains in the hospital, where he is described as being in a serious condition. Kent Police have appealed for anyone who saw the incident or the e-scooter rider before the collision to contact them.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service has also released a statement, saying their thoughts are with everyone affected and they are fully committed to supporting Kent Police's investigation into the incident. A police spokesman for Kent Police said that officers along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) attended the scene and the rider of the e-scooter, a 21-year-old man, was taken to London hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
SECAmb were called to the scene and assessed and treated the rider of the scooter before being joined by The Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex. The patient was then taken via road to a London hospital for further medical treatment
