The Boys franchise is gearing up for the next chapter, with the first trailer released for the prequel series Vought Rising. Set several decades before The Boys, the new show features characters from the original series and expands the world of Supes.
The Boys universe is not ending anytime soon, as Prime Video is getting ready for the next chapter of the franchise. The next installment in The Boys franchise will be Vought Rising , and following the completion of season 5, Prime Video has released the first official trailer for the prequel series .
Check it out below: Throughout the Vought Rising trailer, the footage explores the franchise several decades before the premise of the original series. Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy and Aya Cash's Stormfront are taking the spotlight in The Boys prequel, while also serving as the origin story of the Supes-making corporation. The first Vought Rising trailer sees how Stormfront and Soldier Boy began their history, while also exploring a different era of Supes.
The Prime Video series will also feature Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel, Will Hochman as Torpedo, and Mason Dye as Bombsight. Dye's character will be a main player in the prequel after he was briefly introduced in The Boys season 5. The Vought Rising TV show, which will be set in New York in 1950, was first announced to be in development back at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, with Ackles and Cash attached as executive producers.
While an exact premiere date has yet to be set for the Vought Rising series, Prime Video will announce it at a later time. The cast will also feature Ricky Staffieri, KiKi Layne, Nicolo Pasetti, Brian J. Smith, and Jorden Myrie. Vought Rising had a number of setups in The Boys season 5, while the prequel will also explore new territory of the franchise. Eric Kripke developed the spinoff drama and will executive produce alongside showrunner Paul Grellong.
Kripke recently revealed that there is the potential for Vought Rising season 2, while stressing that season 1 "has a season-wide story that has a satisfying ending, but then it definitely opens a door into a new adventure and a new world, and we would love to keep it going.
" However, the Supernatural creator added that, in the end, "That is up to the powers that be. " Given the setting of the story, there is a lot of ground for twisted comic book drama to cover that could last for multiple seasons. When it premieres in 2027, Vought Rising will be the only series that is keeping The Boys franchise going, at least for now.

Prior to The Boys' ending, Gen V was officially canceled after season 2, leaving the fate of those characters unresolved after the series finale. While The Boys: Mexico is still in active development, it remains to be seen if it will actually go forward at Prime Video. Vought Rising is scheduled to premiere in 2027 on Prime Video.
