A former Magnolia ISD second-grade teacher is now in custody and charged with an improper relationship between an educator and a student, records show.
Brianna WillisA former Magnolia ISD teacher is now in custody and charged with an improper relationship between an educator and a student. Court documents reveal that 40-year-old Jason Maldonado worked at Magnolia Parkway Elementary school as a second-grade teacher.
"I only read half of the email, I couldn't," parent Jessica Segura said. "I felt like I wanted to throw up because as soon as I saw Maldonado, I just couldn't. " The Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constables' Office said their investigation started back in December. Magnolia ISD told ABC13 in a statement that on Dec. 15, they placed Maldonado on leave and notified authorities after parents' reports.
The district also said Maldonado had resigned, but parents like Segura said they should've been notified at the same time back in December, since she says her son was in Maldonado's class.
"I want to know if something happened to my son," Segura said. "A little warning, a little 'Hey you know,' at least a little meeting between us parents of the children that were involved in that class, 'Hey, heads up, something's going on, we're investigating in case you guys want to speak to your children,' nothing at all, not even that. " "They said, 'Hey, we're investigating someone,' and that's the least that Magnolia ISD could've done," another parent said.
Court documents reveal the alleged inappropriate contact happened to several different students who were interviewed by investigators, also revealing it went on for years, between the 2024-2025 school year and this year. Investigators said in court documents that many of the students described in interviews, Maldonado had them "sit on his lap" and also said he would be "touchy" under their clothing.
According to court records, one student even described a time he would take "pictures of her and tell her how to pose.
" Another student in court documents said he "played with her feet, cracking her toes and causing her pain," during an exam. "Stay vigilant, talk to your kids all the time, always be in their lives and always fight the fight for them," a parent said. The Precinct 5 constables' office said that if your child has had any encounters with the suspect, you're asked to contact their office. Related Topics
