According to police, the man at one point barricaded himself in the Montrose-area home before he was taken into custody. The Houston Police Department says a man was placed into custody after he showed up at a home in the Montrose area and forced his way inside.
According to the department, officers responded to the residence on West Alabama near Brandt at around 9 p.m. on Thursday. HPD Lt. A. Ali said there were four occupants inside the home who told officers the suspect forced his way in and started to threaten them.
"We discovered that all four occupants were safely able to exit the location and gave us information that the suspect was still inside," the lieutenant added. Once additional units were called in, the suspect was eventually taken into custody. Ali said the district attorney's office accepted charges against the suspect, but did not say what those charges would be.
