ALDOT worker killed in active Bullock County work zone

An Alabama Department of Transportation employee has died in a work zone crash, ALDOT confirmed.

ALDOT officials are identifying the victim as 48-year-old Amad R. Jackson, who was serving as a crew leader when he was killed. ALDOT said he’d been with the department for 24 years.

Jackson was working in an active work zone in Bullock County, completing what ALDOT said was routine maintenance, when he was fatally struck.

“I ask that you pray for his family and loved ones as they navigate this tragic loss,” said Josh Kervin, ALDOT Southeast Region Engineer. “This is a solemn reminder for us all to use extreme caution whenever driving through work zones. ” I was saddened to learn a 24-year employee of the Alabama Department of Transportation, Crew Leader Amad Jackson, was struck and killed in an active work zone in Bullock County today.

As his loved ones and colleagues grieve his loss, we pray for comfort and healing. God bless.
