Leaked Images Suggest Apple May Be Working on a Black Vision Pro Headset

A leak on X has revealed images of an all-black Apple Vision Pro headset, featuring a power strap and audio pod similar to the current model. The parts are claimed to belong to a second-generation Vision Pro in black, though this remains unconfirmed. Earlier leaks also pointed to a 'Vision Air' with a Midnight finish and titanium components. However, recent reports indicate Apple has paused development of all Vision headsets to focus on AI-powered smart glasses, potentially delaying any new model by at least two years.

Apple may have a black Vision Pro hiding somewhere in its labs. A new leak on X has shared images of an all-black Vision Pro headset, with a recognizable power strap and audio pod that looks similar to the current Apple Vision Pro hardware.

Except, Apple doesn’t sell its MR headset with a dark finish. @LusiRoy8 on X claims that these parts belong to an upcoming second-generation Apple Vision Pro in black. The black finish is doing a lot of work here This is still a parts leak, so it should not be treated as proof of an imminent launch. The Vision Pro has always looked futuristic and slightly clinical.

So a darker finish would have it look more serious, rather than an experimental product. This is also not the first time black Vision hardware has appeared online. Earlier leaks for a thinner and lighter mixed-reality headset internally referred to as “Vision Air” were also expected to use similar black parts. Gorgeous design that we may never see An all-black Vision Pro looks amazing. Though things don’t look so good right now for Apple’s broader headset roadmap. While Apple had reportedly been working on both a lower-cost Vision headset and a redesigned second-generation Vision Pro, recent reports claim that Apple paused development of all Vision headsets to shift more attention toward AI-powered smart glasses. This doesn’t mean that the MR headset is dead.

But a new Vision headset could be at least two years away. Looking at the leaked images, the darker parts seem to be a part of test components or early hardware for a shelved project.
