The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv refutes claims of evacuation, reassuring Americans of its commitment to their safety and security amid escalating tensions and threats of Russian airstrikes.
Amid escalating tensions and threats of Russian airstrikes, the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv has clarified that it remains open and operational, refuting claims by European Union's high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, Kaja Kallas , who earlier suggested that the U.S. had evacuated its embassy.
Kallas made these comments during an informal meeting of foreign affairs ministers, stating that 'all the European embassies stayed, America left.
' However, the U.S. Embassy swiftly responded via social media, asserting that it was fully operational and that reports of its evacuation were false. The embassy reassured Americans of their commitment to their safety and security, reiterating their advisory against travel to Ukraine due to the ongoing armed conflict. The embassy's statement was accompanied by a recent photo of U.S. congressmen Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Rep.
Jim Himes visiting the embassy and meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Later, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry also confirmed that the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv had not left the country
