A 16‑year‑old boy named Charlie Noble drowned in Bracklinn Falls, Scotland during a record‑breaking heatwave that claimed twelve open‑water drownings across the UK. Police ruled the incident non‑suspicious, and family members and friends have expressed deep grief, commemorating Noble's life and highlighting the broader public health risks posed by the extreme temperatures.

During a blistering heatwave that saw temperatures climb above 35°C across the United Kingdom, a 16‑year‑old boy named Charlie Noble was found drowned in the waters of Bracklinn Falls near the town of Callander in Stirling, Scotland.

Police received a call that a swimmer was in trouble and retrieved Noble's body later that evening. The investigation has ruled the incident as non‑suspicious, with Police Scotland confirming the identity of the victim as Charlie Noble. The loss has struck a devastating blow to Noble's family. Father Tam Noble has publicly mourned his son, even changing his online profile picture to a photograph of the 16‑year‑old.

Friends and community members have poured out their condolences on social media. Sharee Aitchison wrote, "Every parent is crying with you Tam. My heart goes out to you. My doors always open.

The best dad you were, Tam.

" Danielle Dani added, "Absolutely heartbroken for you Tam. Thoughts are with you and the family, sending lots of love. Charlie was a lovely boy and that was all down to you pal.

" Unfortunately, Charlie's death is not an isolated incident. In the span of a single month, a total of twelve people have drowned in open‑water locations around the UK as the heatwave persisted. The earlier cases include 16‑year‑old Muhammad Secka who died at Rother Valley Country Park in Rotherham, and 14‑year‑old Baltazar L'Qui who was found in the River Thames.

Other victims have included 17‑year‑old David Junior‑Tita at Pickmere Lake in Cheshire, 12‑year‑old Junior Slater at the River Ribble in Lancashire, and 13‑year‑old Reco Puttock after a rescue attempt at Leadbeater Dam in Halifax. On Sunday, a 15‑year‑old named Declan Sawyer drowned at Swanholme Lakes in Lincolnshire, while a 72‑year‑old woman tragically died off West Angle Beach in Pembrokeshire. The UK Health Security Agency has repeatedly warned that high temperatures elevate risks of water‑related incidents.

The Agency notes that the combination of heat, body temperature, and cold‑water shock can increase the likelihood of drowning. The heatwave, which broke May‑day temperature records in places such as Kew Gardens, has also led to a spike in calls to emergency services for water‑related emergencies. Authorities now urge the public to exercise caution around water, stay hydrated, and monitor weather alerts. In a gesture of solidarity, local communities have come together to honor those lost.

Some have organized memorial vigils, while others share messages and memories online. The list of victims serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by hot weather and the importance of safety measures for outdoor recreation during periods of extreme heat.
