David and Victoria Beckham are enjoying spring break on their £16 million superyacht in Formentera with their children and Romeo's girlfriend. This leisure comes as Victoria discusses potential growth or sale of her fashion brand, and as daughter Harper faces a US trademark refusal for her upcoming beauty line.
Spring break celebrations are in full swing for the Beckham family as they enjoy a luxurious getaway aboard their £16 million superyacht off the coast of Formentera , Spain.
David Beckham, the former Manchester United and England football icon, was spotted enjoying a leisurely afternoon nap, or siesta, on Wednesday. The 51-year-old, known for his heavily tattooed physique, relaxed shirtless on the deck, making sure to keep his lower body modestly covered with a simple white towel as temperatures soared across the Mediterranean. The family's excursion included a scenic cruise following a delightful lunch at the renowned local restaurant, Es Moli de Sal.
Joining her husband on the deck, Victoria Beckham, 52, watched with an admiring expression, remaining cool and protected from the sun under a stylish wide-brimmed hat as she worked on her tan. The family's party was expanded by Romeo Beckham's girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, who also made the most of the sunny weather.
The young DJ was seen in a vibrant lilac bikini, taking a refreshing swim in the azure waters, while Romeo himself relaxed on the lower deck of the yacht, named Seven in honor of his father's famous jersey number. The getaway provides a stark, serene contrast to the serious business discussions surrounding Victoria Beckham's fashion brand.
The former Spice Girl, who famously had to secure a substantial £30 million loan from her husband's company in the past to support her label, recently stated she is 'open to selling' the company. Founded in 2008, the Victoria Beckham brand reported significant debts of £53.9 million in 2022, though revenues have shown improvement, reaching £112.7 million in 2024. Speaking to the Financial Times, Victoria emphasized a forward-looking growth strategy but left the door open to a future sale.
'I would never say never and I like to look at opportunities,' she commented. 'But at the moment I am looking at growth... I want to build the house.
' She outlined plans for physical retail expansion, with new stores slated to open in New York and Miami after the success of a London flagship. 'For me until I open the store in NY and Miami, I have been reliant on online but I want to be able to control the experience from the client walking in the store,' she explained, signaling a major strategic shift for the label.
Meanwhile, the Beckhams' youngest daughter, Harper, is forging her own path in the beauty industry. The teenager is reportedly preparing to launch a beauty range this summer, inspired by South Korean cosmetics and targeting Gen Z and Gen Alpha consumers.
However, her entrepreneurial venture has hit a significant legal hurdle in the United States. Having trademarked the name 'HIKU BY Harper' in the UK last October, the family applied for similar protection in the US. The US Patent and Trademark Office issued an 'initial refusal' on the grounds that the name could cause confusion with existing companies.
'Harper' is already registered for brooms and scrubbing brushes, and 'Hiku' for toiletry and fragrance products. The family now has six months to appeal the decision. The proposed trademark covered a wide array of products including makeup, acne skincare, footwear, clothing, and accessories. Victoria previously revealed that Harper's 'really bad' personal battle with acne was the direct inspiration for launching the brand, a story she shared on Emma Grede's 'Aspire' podcast.
The family's representative for the Daily Mail has been contacted for comment regarding the trademark issue
