PANAMA CITY, Fla. -The Bay County Sheriff’s Office is releasing more information following a shooting in Panama City Beach over the weekend that left one man dead and a teenager behind bars. According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, at 2:24 a.

m., they responded to a reported shooting at Wildwood Road and Emerald Cove Street. Deputies say they found the victim on the ground in a pool of blood and a bullet hole in the front windshield of the victim’s vehicle as well as the driver door mirror. When EMS began attempting life saving measures, they discovered the victim had a gunshot wound to the head. Officials say the victim was taken to an area hospital where he died.Investigators said when they noticed McArthur’s vehicle had a Lyft sign, they contacted the company who provided information for the suspect who was identified as 17-year-old Brayden Raul Gomez of Bay County. According to the Affidavit, investigators were able to locate Gomez’s mother and went to her home. While talking with his mother, deputies reportedly found clothing that tested positive for human blood.While being transported to the sheriff’s office for questioning, investigators say he agreed to show them where he discarded the gun. Investigators found it in a trashcan in the Woodlawn neighborhood.Investigators said Gomez told them McArthur made comments about him being intoxicated underage. Gomez reportedly stated that McArthur allegedly told him he would amount to nothing and said his mother was “sorry.” Investigators said that is when Gomez told them in a fit of rage, he removed the gun from his pants and pointed it at McArthur. shooting him in the head from behind.
