PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - Gulf World Marine Park is in violation of city building codes according to the Panama City Beach mayor. Mayor Stuart Tettemer tells NewsChannel 7 an inspection in March revealed multiple failures of the city building code.
Gulf World Marine Park has been under scrutiny over recent reports of animal deaths and safety violations. Mayor Tettemer says the park’s owner as well as those involved with the company’s bankruptcy proceedings have been notified of the violations, adding that the submissions say the park must close the portions not following code. “We have now submitted those violations saying they have to close those portions. One of it is right by the stingray exhibit there was standing water and fans, so that was a public safety danger.
