Voice actress Tara Strong reveals her disappointment that the mecha series Sym-Bionic Titan was not renewed, calling it a 'f***ing good show.' Creator Genndy Tartakovsky confirms more stories are written but a revival depends on network interest.

Tara Strong , the renowned voice actress behind countless beloved animated characters, recently shared her disappointment over the cancellation of the mecha series Sym-Bionic Titan . During an appearance on The Joe Vulpis Podcast, Strong expressed her belief that the show should have continued, citing its high quality and the magic it shared with other classic series.

She revealed, It disappointed me when that didn't get picked up! It was such a f***ing good show. I loved Sym-Bionic Titan, and I thought it had the same magic as other iconic shows. Strong, who voiced the character Ilana in the series, lamented that the story remained unfinished and that the series had become a cult favorite since its finale.

Creator Genndy Tartakovsky also weighed in on the possibility of a revival, stating that there are already more stories written and planned for Sym-Bionic Titan. However, he emphasized that the decision is not his alone and that the project would need to be resold and find financial backing. Tartakovsky said, Yeah, that story's not finished. We have more things written already and figured out for it to finish, but somebody's got to want to finish it.

It's not up to me. It's not like I can go, Okay, Genndy, here's $10 million or whatever. My life doesn't work like that. It's still, well, Why should we do it?

Why was this canceled? Are people going to watch it? You still have to resell it and have people want to pay for it. It's not up to me.

Yeah, that's probably the only thing I would return to. Obviously, there's more planned, and hopefully I'll get to do it, but looking backwards, I have too much new stuff that I still want to do. This highlights the complex realities of reviving a canceled show despite its passionate fanbase.

Meanwhile, Tartakovsky has been busy with other projects, including the acclaimed series Primal, which just concluded its second season with a surprising ending that left the story of Spear and Fang complete for now. As of now, no official revival of Sym-Bionic Titan has been confirmed, but the creator continues to develop new material for the future, including a major upcoming project.

The lingering interest in Sym-Bionic Titan from both its cast and creator, combined with its cult status, keeps the door open for a potential return. Fans remain hopeful that the series might one day see a proper conclusion, but for now, the fate of the show rests in the hands of network executives and market demand
