A Pennsylvania State Police trooper has pleaded guilty to using state computers and databases to create AI-generated pornography, according to Attorney General Dave Sunday . Stephen Kamnik , 39, admitted to several charges for crimes that date back as far as 2020.
More than 10,000 imagesInvestigators noticed unusually high bandwidth usage associated with his state-owned computer, prompting an audit that revealed more than 10,000 images of pornography on the device. Police said the AI-generated images and deepfakes used pictures of celebrities, state and local leaders, including a Montgomery County judge, and members of the public. Some of the victims were targeted inside Kamnik’s own home.
