GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A Hamilton County judge set a $2 million bond for a man accused of strangling his grandfather to death in Green Township Friday, according to court records.
On Friday officers responded to a home in the 6200 block of Sharlene Drive, where they found Alexander Metcalf dead, according to Green Township police. According to an affidavit, a witness told police she was called to the address to check on her McCulloch and Metcalf because his father had recently passed away. When she arrived, she found Metcalf dead on the ground with a band around his neck, the affidavit says.
The witness stated to police that McCulloch was not in the house, but his phone was left at the scene. Officers utilized a police K9 to track down McCulloch. During his arrest, McCulloch reportedly confessed to using a belt to choke his grandfather, stating that he pulled it tight until “the victim was done,” according to the affidavit.
The affidavit states that after he released the belt, he quickly left the home because he knew the police would be called, and he was trying to hide. The investigation did prompt soft lockdowns at Oak Hills High School and J.F. Dulles Elementary School earlier Friday, FOX19 NOW confirmed.
