News 4 anchor Caroline Gerhart is moving to the anchor desk at Fox 19 in Cincinnati , with her promotion effective later this month.WTVY Vice President Valerie Russell-Clausell said of Gerhart’s departure, “This is bittersweet. While we will miss her, we are equally proud that she is moving up within Gray Media.” A Troy University student, Gerhart joined the News 4 team in June 2022 as an intern.
Within two months after graduation, the station promoted her as a multimedia journalist and soon moved her to the anchor desk.Gerhart said, “I am grateful for the opportunities WTVY has given me. I learned so much in such a short amount of time working alongside an elite team of journalists.” Gerhart knew early in her life that she would pursue a career in broadcast news. After graduating high school in Orlando, she moved to Troy and graduated Summa Cum Laude, receiving Bachelor’s degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Dance. She was vital to the National Peanut Festival Pageant, served on the Southeast World of Works (WOW) Board, and participated in numerous civic functions. We are losing a friend, and the Dothan area is losing a friend.” Gerhart admits she may shed some tears but is delighted that Gray Media thinks so highly of her that the company would promote her to such a prestigious position. “It’s tough to say goodbye but I’m excited about my new opportunity in such a top-notch television market,” she said. Gerhart’s final day with the WTVY Family of Stations is January 17, when her colleagues and friends celebrate with an on-air gathering during News4 This Morning
