Brandon Sanderson has suggested a long wait for sequence 2 of The Stormlight Archive , but one of his other Roshar-related projects could ease the wait. Brandon Sanderson has been expanding his Cosmere universe for decades, and the annual State of Sanderson blog posts have become a reliable way for the author to keep audiences up to date with progress on his numerous titles.
Releasing shortly after Wind and Truth's December release, this year's blog post delivered unfortunate news, with him predicting the next Stormlight Archive book releasing in December 2031, meaning a seven-year wait between volumes. For Cosmere fans, Brandon Sanderson still has plenty in progress to look forward to. Isles of the Emberdark will see its wide release in 2026, and new Mistborn and Elantris books will be hitting shelves before the decade is over. With the increasing number of Cosmere connections in each series, these could very easily incorporate Stormlight Archive characters or references. For now, however, Wind and Truth's ending will be the final novel on Roshar for the time being.
