CANTON, Ohio - The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a house fire in Plain Township on Tuesday night that left a 1-year-old child dead. According to a release from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, at around 9:22 p.
m., deputies and firefighters responded to a reported house fire in the 3400 block of Easton Street NE.When crews arrived, they worked to find and remove the child from the home. The Plain Township Fire Department, with assistance from the Sheriff’s Office, took the child to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital.Deputies who participated in the rescue were evaluated at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital for smoke inhalation.
