) - The Montgomery Biscuits announced Thursday that the minor league baseball team is under new owner ship after being sold to OnDeck Partners. The new owner s released a statement to fans say that it remains committed to the team and the Montgomery community.
“With extensive sports management experience, OnDeck Partners believes in the power of community-focused baseball, and we recognize the Biscuits proud legacy as one of the most cherished organizations in Minor League Baseball,” the statement explained. “While ownership may be new, you’ll continue to see the same family friendly environment, excitement, and community connection you expect --- and now with even more energy and support behind the scenes to grow, improve, and make Biscuits baseball even better.”“Baseball has always been about more than the final score – it’s about connection. And at OnDeck, we’re dedicated to building those connections stronger than ever, ensuring that every game day feels like a community celebration, today and for generations to come."was recently launched as part of Avenue Sports Fund in an effort to buy minor league teams across the nation. In addition to the Montgomery purchase, financial details of which were not disclosed, OnDeck Partners also bought a team in California.new ownership group made up of Lou DiBella of DiBella Entertainment, investor Gary Green and baseball veteran Todd Parnell. DiBellla already owned two minor league baseball teams at the time.
