Four Cuyahoga County men were arrested for drug manufacturing and trafficking after a 15-month investigation.
The four defendants are 36-year-old Marchus Brown of Cleveland , 32-year-old Kardell Henderson of Solon , 32-year-old Terence Montgomery of Cleveland and 30-year-old Devonte Poteat of Euclid .
According to information from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the agency and the Cleveland Homeland Security Task Force began an investigation in late summer 2025 that lasted 15 months. Both departments worked with local law enforcement agencies to investigate large-scale narcotic trafficking in northern Ohio. During a search of a suspected East Cleveland home connected to the trafficking and manufacturing, agents found more than 20 bags containing various amounts of drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine.
Agents say one room appeared to have a setup for drug manufacturing, with a breathing respirator and a drug press. Prepared bags of suspected illegal drugs were found in various places in the home, including a mattress, furniture and clothes hampers. Items seized from those searches included illegal drugs, five firearms, ammunition, digital scales, blenders, cellphones, cash and money counters, according to agents.
Federal agents report seizing 1,355.74 grams of fentanyl, 1,117.97 grams of cocaine and 2,709.16 grams of crack cocaine.
“This investigation would not be possible without the incredible collaboration among all levels of law enforcement here in our Northern District of Ohio,” U.S. Attorney David Toepfer said. “We have a common goal to target and go after suspected drug traffickers who destroy our communities. With the support and full resources of the Homeland Security Task Force we are equipped to stop violent criminals who profit from hurting others.
