Dothan's first ever songwriter's festival is coming to the Wiregrass.
DOTHAN, Ala. - Dothan’s first-ever Songwriter’s Festival is happening on Saturday, February 22 at Folklore Brewing & Meadery.
Brett Stafford Smith, a Wiregrass native, has been writing songs since he was a teenager. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a songwriting career. Little did he know, a purchase from a friend turned into a lifetime buddy.Brett views the festival as an opportunity for people in the area to showcase their talents.
“We’ve got some great songwriters in the area and we want to do something to celebrate that,” Smith said. 23 artists across all genres of music have signed up to perform in Dothan’s Songwriter’s Festival. Tickets are on sale for $15 at Folklore Brewing & Meadery, located at 153 Mary Lou Lane, or can beThe Songwriter’s Festival also has a youth songwriting challenge. Anyone under 19 can enter their original piece of work by January 24 by sending it to [email protected] The winner will receive a spot to perform at the festival.
