Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey debuts to a dismal Rotten Tomatoes score after much hype for the demented take on the beloved children's book.
After much anticipation, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey debuts to a dismal Rotten Tomatoes score. With the 1926 Winnie-the-Pooh book officially entering the public domain last year, the previously unknown director Rhys Frake-Waterfield was able to develop a demented reimagining of the beloved children's book by A. A. Milne.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Now, with the micro-budget horror movie having begun its limited theatrical run, more and more critics have started to share their reviews. To little surprise, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey has debuted to an abysmal eight percent on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing with just over ten reviews, though the score isn't expected to see a drastic increase over time.
While Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is being panned by critics, the early audience reactions are trending positively. On Rotten Tomatoes, its audience score is in the 60 percent range with over 50 verified ratings submitted.
Based on the critical and audience reactions to Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey thus far, it might have a chance to be the next cult hit with younger audiences. The horror movie was already off to a killer start at the international box office, which appears primed to continue during its limited theatrical release in the United States. More Blood and Honey is also already promised, as a sequel Winne-the-Pooh 2 is officially in the works.
