The surprise release of “Counter-Strike 2″ and a Dice House sweepstakes in ‘Yahtzee with Buddies” offers good value for your time
Downloadable expansions have changed over the years. They used to be ways for developers to capitalize on content that went on the cutting room floor, but slowly, as games left the brick-and-mortar retailers, and became digital, this content became more elaborate and in some cases transformed into projects that were just as good as the original.
The past few weeks saw two big expansions. The first comes from CD Projekt Red, which launched its “Phantom Liberty” expansion for “Cyberpunk 2077” and the second is “Separate Ways,” a side story that tells Ada Wong’s side of things in “Resident Evil 4.” That’s in addition to a surprise release from Valve, which doesn’t happen every day.After a disastrous 2020 launch, CD Projekt Red didn’t write off its sci-fi epic.
All of this means that it should be worth playing through again because “Cyberpunk 2077” should feel like an improved version of the game fans thought they were getting a few years ago. The addition of Idris Elba as super-spy Solomon Reed also adds a dose of star power to go along with Keanu Reeves’ performance as Johnny Silverhand.If you’re starting form scratch, the game could take upwards of 60 hours to beat.
This side story follows her version of the “Resident Evil 4” events and it gives players new exploration tools and gameplay hooks. Ada plays differently from the main campaign protagonist Leon S Kennedy. Her grappling hook figures prominently in her gameplay style, and the story fleshes out what happens behind the scenes.This expansion is short and you can finish it over an afternoon. It could be a good way to spend the weekend if you’re not into football.
