This fresh playthrough has been somewhat fascinating. Outside of experiencing Male V for the first time (he’s also very good!), you also have three years of other games to compare it to, and I’m realizing that few can match Cyberpunk’s immersion
The visuals may be the largest leap. Cyberpunk’s biggest problems at launch were its performance and its fidelity, especially on consoles. Now, last-gen consoles have been left behind, as they always should have been, and CDPR and Nvidia have spent the last three years making Cyberpunk 2077 quite literally the best-looking game…in existence? I’m not even exaggerating.
As of 2.0, I do think there are at least some missed opportunities here. I am not quite sure why CDPR bothered to now make an entire car combat system when thetime it’s used are for specific car pickup/dropoff missions, or police chases. I am currently playing dozens of gigs and missions in the base game that could have benefitted from some exciting driving sequences where enemy cars are thrown at you, but there are none.
The police changes are fine, though the only thing truly exciting is when MaxTac comes to play. Otherwise it’s just GTA. Accidentally hit a person, hide until you star goes away-type stuff. Better than what the game launched with, but not especially interesting.I also don’t quite understand tying stamina to gunfire, as much as I appreciate the fact that sprinting no longer costs stamina.
But that’s it, that’s all I’ve got. Everything else remains exceptional. I am not shocked that I am hearing from dozens of real life and internet friends who barely played before or are only starting now that Cyberpunk 2077 is incredible, and this is well before many of them have even reached Phantom Liberty, which is unequivocally the best content in the game.a great game at its core. But now, unearthing that game for everyone and layering great new gameplay and visuals on top of it.
