About halfway through the video, the Australian actor namechecks the omnipresent cotton tote bags as one of his essentials. “Somehow, even if they look small, [they are] kind of like Hermione's bag. You know in[when] she just pulls a tent out of it,” Jacob said about his preferred choice of carry-all. “You just like keep digging and you will find everything you've ever lost in this bag.”
Being one of his must-haves, of course, Jacob has more than one tote in his arsenal — or “too many,” according to him. In the video, he shows off a number from Paris-based independent bookstore Shakespeare and Company. But it's another one that seemingly lives in his mind rent-free: a $54 tote bag he recently acquired at an art gallery.
“Tote bags are all so expensive now,” the actor said prefacing the anecdote. “I got one at an art gallery the other day, it cost $54… And yes, I paid for it because I didn't know at the time. Then they were like, that'll be $54 and I can't really… I just get so nervous. I'm like, ‘Of course, it would be. Yeah, I'll definitely pay for that. That sounds about right.’”
Of course, the star was being facetious this time around. “It's ridiculous. [But] I was too nervous to be like, 'for a tote bag?!'” Jacob continued. “I don't even wear that one because I'm, like, disgusted with myself.”be that expensive, he might as well put it to good use now that he already bought it.
