The Wasilla Warriors are flying home victorious after defeating the Barrow Whalers in the first Friday night game held in Utqiagvik since September 1st, 2006ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Wasilla Warriors earned their first win of the season on Friday, defeating the Barrow Whalers 31-14 on their blue turf.

The forecasted temperature at kickoff was 35 degrees with wind gusts reaching into the mid 30s. The constant wind paired with rain persisted for much of the matchup. Wasilla would control things the rest of the way as defensive stops kept the Whalers off the scoreboard until the four quarter. Despite the adversity, the Whalers’ maintained their focus to the end.
