Newburgh Heights Police (NHPD) chased a suspected intoxicated driver Friday night who ended up going the wrong way on a state route with two flat tires.
NEWBURGH HEIGHTS, Ohio - Newburgh Heights Police chased a suspected intoxicated driver Friday night who ended up going the wrong way on a state route with two flat tires.
According to a release from NHPD, officers tried to stop an the driver just after 8:15 p.m. Friday on Harvard Avenue.The release said the NHPD used spike strips on the vehicle, which took out two of the suspect’s tires. Police say the suspect continued to elude police until police were able to stop the vehicle going the wrong way on State Route 176.
The suspect was arrested and charges are pending, including OVI, fleeing, using weapons while intoxicated, and having weapons under disability.
