Garfield Heights Bulldogs defeated Warrensville Heights in a thrilling basketball match, keeping their undefeated streak alive.
Garfield Heights ’ undefeated start to the new year was put to the test Thursday night against No. 6 Warrensville Heights , but the Bulldogs pulled out the victory with a strong performance. Junior guard Marcus Johnson, son of Garfield Heights coach Sonny Johnson, led the way with 24 points and four steals. Ari Jones added 14 points and eight rebounds, while Nasir Hines pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked five shots.
Warrensville Heights got 13 points from Noah Chambers and nine points from Jaylen Billingslea, who hit three 3-pointers off the bench. Despite knocking down seven shots from downtown, the hosts could not overcome the deficit in the second half
