'Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith' will hit the shelves in June, the vice president and his publisher, HarperCollins, announced on Tuesday.
Vice President JD Vance will release a book on his conversion to Catholicism and return to faith in June. Vice President JD Vance, whose 2016 memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy,” helped launch his political career, will release another book this summer.
"Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith” will hit the shelves in June, Vance and his publisher, HarperCollins, announced on Tuesday. “I’ve been writing this book for a long time, and I’m honored to finally be able to share the full story with you all,” the vice president said in a statement. “Communion is about my personal journey and how I found my way back to faith.” Vance, a former evangelical, focused in the memoir on his conversion to Catholicism following a departure from faith, HarperCollins said in a press release. He wrote about how“The story of how I regained my faith, of course, only happened because I had lost it to begin with,” Vance wrote in the memoir. “The interesting question that hangs over this book, and over my mind, is why I ever strayed from the path. Why the Christian faith of my youth failed to properly take root. I'm glad I found my way back to the Church.” Vance was baptized a Catholic in 2019. He grew up as an evangelical in the Rust Belt, which became the setting for “Hillbilly Elegy” half a decade before theof his political career. The New York Times featured the book on its best-seller list, and many critics praised it as a telling explanation of the support that drove President Donald Trump to the White House. “Along comes Mr. Vance, offering a compassionate, discerning sociological analysis of the white underclass that has helped drive the politics of rebellion, particularly the ascent of Donald J.
