SAN ANTONIO - A huge new merger, the University of Texas System will merge with the University of Texas at San Antonio and UT Health San Antonio next year.They also voted to name UT San Antonio President Taylor Eighmy the new university president. The combined institution would become the third-largest research university in Texas.
"Great cities and great universities make each other better. It is time to marshal the talent, size and scale of UTSA and UTHSA to multiply their roles as global leaders in education, healthcare, and innovation,” said University of Texas System Board of Regents Chairman Kevin P Eltife.
