U.S. Marshals arrested Ron Christopher Hunter Wednesday on Cleveland's East Side. Hunter was wanted in connection with a fatal shooting outside of a downtown nightclub.
The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has arrested two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of Monte Baker. CLEVELAND, Ohio - A U.S. Marshal task force on Wednesday arrested a second suspect wanted for a killing that occurred at a downtown Cleveland nightclub last month.
The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Ron Christopher Hunter, 29, in the 6300 block of White Avenue in Cleveland. Hunter is charged with aggravated murder, records show. Authorities say Hunter, of Euclid, was involved in the fatal shooting of Monte Baker 23, on Dec. 7 outside of Medusa Nightclub and Lounge, located at 1437 St. Clair Avenue. On the night of the shooting, officers working in the downtown entertainment district were flagged down after Baker was shot inside the club.On Dec. 24, the task force arrested Steven Cooperwood in the 1600 block of Sunset Avenue in Akron. Cooperwood, 28, of Cleveland, is being held in the county jail on a $500,000 bond. Court records show he is accused of murder, felonious assault and having weapons under disability, which means he was restricted from having a firearm. “It is incredible that there were not more victims when these suspects opened fire in a crowded night club,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said.
