Both incidents took place yesterday and the detective leading the investigation has asked anyone who may have experienced anything similar on local cycle paths to come forward.
A 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on a cycle path in Paisley before a woman was attacked hours later.
The first incident happened near to Maxwelton Street, at around 2.25pm. The second report came from River Cart Walkway, at around 6.25pm.
