Robyn Fryar was walking along Glenburn Road on her way home when Shaun Gatti, 20, was speeding while drunk behind the wheel and struck the teenager before leaving the scene.
The dad of a Paisley teenager who died after a hit-and-run 2019 has welcomed new guidelines which will see drivers kill who pedestrians, cyclists or motorcyclists given a tougher sentence.
Iain Fryar, who now lives in Banchory in Aberdeenshire, said: “He’s out already. He only served two-and-a-half years. The guideline aims to deliver greater consistency in sentencing those who plead guilty or are convicted of the offence and assist public understanding of how such cases are dealt with by the courts.
