A new poll shows that younger voters, who helped propel Trump to the Oval Office in 2024, are now souring on his presidency.

The downturn with this demographic comes amid persistent economic concerns as well as growing voter unease about the country’s intervention in Iran, a conflict the majority of Americans view unfavorablyQuantus Insights conducted its survey among 1,472 likely voters between March 25 and 26, reporting a margin of error of ±2.8 percent. According to their results, 60.2 percent of respondents said that the country is currently on the “wrong track,” compared to 35.6 percent who are confident in its direction and 4.3 percent who are unsure. And this skepticism may carry electoral consequences, with 47 percent of those surveyed saying they would vote for a Democrat if congressional elections were held right now, with 41.3 percent siding with the GOP, 8.2 percent undecided and 3.5 percent opting for a candidate outside the two main parties., support was weakest among the youngest surveyed group, with 33.3 percent of those aged 30 to 44 supporting his presidency and 63.4 percent disapproving. This rises to 45.2 percent with those 45-64 and 47.9 percent for those over 65, compared to 53.7 percent and 51.9 percent, respectively, who disapprove of his job as president., showing 41 percent approval and 59 percent disapproval—a the latter hitting its highest level across both Trump’s terms in office.“The White House still retains a loyal and intense base, especially among Republicans, rural voters, and older Americans. But the broader electorate is sending a colder message. The public mood is dark, the president is underwater, and the congressional ballot already tilts toward the opposition. If those conditions hold, this survey may prove to be more than a snapshot of discontent.
