An elderly man has died in a fatal crash after a B-double truck hit a small hatchback before it smashed head-on into a house where two people and several pets lived.
A 68-year-old truck driver was involved in the serious crash on Goderich St in Invermay, Launceston, on Wednesday about 6.50am.
The heavy vehicle then hit a small white hatchback travelling northbound, before smashing through fencing and then colliding into the back of a house on Howard St.A B-double truck bearing the insignia De Bruyn's Transport has slammed into a house on Goderich St at Invermay. Picture: Alex Treacy Acting Inspector Hanson said two people and several pets inside the house at the time but they were luckily uninjured as they were at the front of the property.
De Bruyn’s Transport revealed the incident was medical-related and reiterated its priority in safety and compliance.
