Three people were killed in a triple homicide at a gas station in State Line, Mississippi on New Year's Day. Authorities are searching for the suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous. Investigators believe the shooting may have been a robbery, but are also looking into the possibility of a personal motive.

STATE LINE, Miss. - The search continues for a man law enforcement accused of shooting and killing three people at a gas station in State Line on New Years Day. Several local, state and national law agencies have joined in to support the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. Three victims — Rhonda Denson, Lester Campbell and Jason Thornton — were killed in the triple homicide.

Greene County Chief Deputy Brad Warrick said investigators are considering it a robbery, but also believe the suspect could’ve had a personal motive. “I have nothing to validate that,” said Warrick. “We’re looking into that. We’re checking backgrounds of different people to see if there were personal connections or if this is just where he picked.” Warrick added that the man stole and later ditched a car about four miles down the road, which gives investigators reason to believe this wasn’t a one man job. “We put K-9 dogs there,” said Warrick. “There wasn’t tracks leaving there. He didn’t go up in a spaceship.Resident Terry Young was out Thursday setting up a memorial in honor of the victims.“I knew them all,” said Young. “Ms. Rhonda, she worked here a long time, went to Waynesboro and came back.Deon Kern manages the Genuine Care Center along nearby Main Street.“We spoke to the clients this morning and told them to keep the families in prayer,” said Kern. “And if they see something that’s questionable, let us know so we can always watch out for them.”Warrick said they don’t believe the man was still in the area, but he should be considered armed and dangerous. “He has no remorse,” said Warrick. “I don’t even want to say what he deserves, but Greene County does not want him nowhere in Greene County.”Anyone who has any information about the incident should contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Department at (601) 394-234
