Transformers Comic Gets a Big-Name Creative Reboot

The long-running Transformers comic book series is undergoing a major creative shakeup, with Eisner Award-winning writer and artist Robert Kirkman taking the helm. Kirkman will be joined by artist Dan Mora, as they guide the Autobots and Decepticons into a thrilling new chapter.

Fans of the Transformers franchise are in for a treat as the comic book series is undergoing a significant creative shakeup, welcoming two big-name talents. The collaboration between Hasbro, Skybound, and Image Comics has resulted in the acclaimed Robert Kirkman , a two-time Eisner Award winner, taking on the roles of writer and artist. He's joined by the talented Jorge Corona, who will continue his work as the artist for the series.

Together with colorist Mike Spicer and letterer Rus Wooton, they will be steering the Transformers universe forward with the highly anticipated oversized 25th issue on October 8th. This issue serves as a perfect jumping-on point for new readers, featuring not only a compelling storyline by Kirkman and Corona, but also an additional story penned by Kirkman. “Issue #25 will also feature a story from Kirkman and current series artist Jorge Corona,” said Kirkman. “I’ve been so invested in this series since the beginning. I’ve marveled at what Daniel Warren Johnson and Jorge Corona have brought to some of my all-time favorite characters. When Daniel’s run came to an end, I could stand on the sidelines no more! I just had to get in the ring! It’s a tremendous honor to be a small part of the legacy of these amazing characters. This world has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I can’t wait for everyone to see what the legendary Dan Mora and I are cooking up!” Joining Kirkman for this exciting new chapter is the renowned artist Dan Mora, who brings his own unique style and vision to the Transformers universe. “I’ve been a Transformers fan ever since I can remember, so it’s been a real thrill to come aboard the series with the equally thrilling Robert Kirkman,” said Dan Mora. “I’ve also been a huge fan of Daniel Warren Johnson and Jorge Corona, and what they’ve done on this title has literally been out of this world. Drawing mybrings me back to all of the fun I had playing with them as a kid, so I hope to add my own spark to their legacy and can’t wait for fans to see what Robert and I have been toying with for the Energon Universe next!” The buzz around this creative overhaul is palpable, with Executive Editor Ben Abernathy expressing immense excitement. “Talk about a dream come true,” noted Abernathy. “I think everyone’s going to have their minds blown once they read what these two geniuses are cooking up!”TRANSFORMERS #25 promises to be a game-changer for the Energon Universe. The Autobots and Decepticons embark on a surprising new chapter in their war on Earth, with Optimus Prime and the remaining Autobots forced to forge alliances with unexpected partners to defend their adopted planet. However, Prime’s greatest challenge may arise closer to home than he ever anticipated. Meanwhile, the fate of the Decepticons hangs in the balance.
