A judge in Townsville said Leonard John Farren's offending encouraged the 'abhorrent sexual exploitation of young, vulnerable girls' when sentencing him to five-and-a-half years' jail.
Townsville teacher Leonard John Farren has been jailed after pleading guilty to eight child exploitation offences.A North Queensland teacher who discussed plans on an encrypted app to meet, sedate and abuse an 11-year-old girl has been sentenced to five-and-a-half years' jail.
He accessed one of the platforms more than 600 times over a six-week period and the other app almost 200 times over five days. Commonwealth prosecutor Chris Moore said Farren told police he thought the plan was "just a fantasy and lies".The court heard he did not believe his activity would be detected because the apps were encrypted."What your conduct has done is to encourage the abhorrent sexual exploitation of young, vulnerable girls," she said.
