Named after a victim of the 2018 Parkland High School shooting, the law proposes requiring teachers and staff to wear safety alert buttons.
CINCINNATI - In the wake of a school shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia earlier this year, Ohio lawmakers are considering Alyssa's Law, a measure aimed at bolstering school safety across the state.
"It will allow us to kind of take a proactive step and make sure all of our schoolteachers and faculty are wearing these wearable panic alerts," said Reynolds. Princeton Schools Superintendent Elgin Card shared insights from their experience with a similar system, implemented after a 2022 school shooting hoax.
