The Mandalorian star Katee Sackhoff wants to portray the iconic Batman villain, Pamela Isley, a.k.a. Poison Ivy, in James Gunn's DC Universe.
The Mandalorian star Katee Sackhoff wants to play Poison Ivy in James Gunn's DC Universe. With the DCEU getting ready for a reboot, several DC Universe projects are in the works. One of them is Batman: The Brave and The Bold, a new reboot focused on the Dark Knight. The reboot will focus on an established Caped Crusader as he discovers the existence of his son, Damian Wayne. Batman: The Brave and The Bold currently doesn't have a set creative team but will be part of Chapter 1.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Someone who is game to join the DC Universe is Sackhoff. In a recent interview with ComicBook, The Mandalorian star opened up about how she would love to play Poison Ivy. She also praises Mike Flanagan as someone she would love to work with again. Sackhoff is no stranger to Pamela Isley, as she voiced her in Batman: The Long Halloween. She also spoke of wanting to work with Mike Flanagan, who pitched Clayface to DC Studios.
I can't quite say that I would sell my firstborn, because she's quite special to me [laughs]. But I would like sh*t twice and die to play Poison Ivy... And to work with Mike Flanagan again. He is such a genius and so collaborative. Working on Oculus was so much fun for me because he allowed me to talk about what I wanted to do with her [the character "Marie Russell] I love bringing physicality to the roles that I play and horror is no different...And he was so all in.
While there have been multiple Batman movie franchises, only a handful of them have featured some of the female foes. Poison Ivy only got one shot on the big screen in the critically bombed Batman & Robin. Thus far, Poison Ivy has had a chance to shine more on television, including Gotham and Batwoman. Bridget Regan's version in the Arrowverse served as a great reminder of why Poison Ivy can work perfectly as a big bad.
Poison Ivy's activity as an ecoterrorist could be an angle better explored in today's superhero landscape. Since a direct Batman sequel is bound to happen, Poison Ivy is due for the big-screen treatment. Hopefully, as more DC Universe plans get revealed, Poison Ivy will be part of Chapter 1 in some capacity.
