A Texas teacher has filed a lawsuit in connection to the deadly school bus crash that killed a 5-year-old and a doctoral student.

Serna is seeking more than $1 million in monetary relief to cover the incurred expenses for medical care and the future expenses for such medical needs. Notedly, the lawsuit does not touch on the issue of seatbelts, given that the bus did not have any, nor was it obligated to under Texas law, though Breen said that's "not something that's acceptable."
Pre-K student Ulises Rodriguez Montoya and 33-year-old Ryan Wallace, who was traveling behind the bus, died at the scene.
