A Tom Green Elementary School teacher has filed a lawsuit in connection to last month's deadly Hays CISD school bus crash in Texas that killed a 5-year-old and a Texas doctoral student.

The lawsuit states the teacher, Deborah Serna, was severely injured in the crash. She broke at least four bones in her back and will be out of work for the time being. "The level of negligence and gross negligence by the Defendants in this case truly shocks the conscience," the lawsuit says.
