The crash happened on Monday around 2 a.m. along Interstate 64 in Hampton when the car veered off the road and hit a guardrail before slamming into a barrier, according to the media outlet. The child, who "was not properly restrained at the time of the crash," was seriously hurt and later died, per the outlet.reported that the 14-year-old girl suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital. Her condition was not immediately available. Authorities said the girl was under the influence and not wearing a seatbelt, according to the outlet.the child would have turned 2 years old on April 4.
