Officials with the Ogden City Police Department said officers found a stolen vehicle on the 2800 block of Quincey Avenue on Friday night. Officers said they attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver fled. Police said the driver hit a patrol vehicle and continued to the intersection of 31st Street and Grant Avenue, where he crashed into another vehicle. The second vehicle that was struck had two adults and six children inside. An 11-year-old passenger was ejected and died from their injuries.Police identified both the driver and passenger of the vehicle involved in the chase as 14-year-old males. They said they were also hospitalized with injuries."This is an extraordinarily devastating incident. We are grieving with and for the victim family," police wrote in a press release. Police said they will not be releasing the identities of those involved at this time as the incident involves minors. The investigation is being led by the Weber-Metro CRASH team, which stands for Crash Reconstruction and Scene Handling. Investigators with the Ogden City Police Department's Investigations Bureau and the Weber-Morgan Homicide Task Force are also investigating the incident. Police said any potential criminal charges will be filed after the suspects receive the necessary medical care.
