Teen arrested in stabbing death at Mira Mesa park [Breaking]
A 17-year-old boy was arrested Friday night on suspicion of fatally stabbing a man in a Mira Mesa park, San Diego police said.Officers and paramedics arrived in minutes and found a 22-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to the chest, San Diego police Lt. Steve Shebloski said. The victim was taken to a hospital, but he died a short time later.He has been identified, but his name won’t be released until his family has been notified.
The suspect initially ran from the park, but he returned a short time later and was arrested by officers, police said. His name was not released because he is a minor. Investigators determined the teen and the victim were both unhoused and were in an argument when the stabbing occurred, Shebloski said. The two knew each other.
Detectives are attempting to find surveillance video of the incident as well as witnesses who may have seen the altercation, police said. Anyone with information about the death was asked to call the department’s Homicide Unit at 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 580-8477.
