Two suspects are in custody after a high-speed chase involving multiple stolen guns. The suspects are facing charges related to 18 vehicle burglaries in Moody, Alabama.
Officers recovered 10 guns from a vehicle and said the pair is suspected in 18 vehicle burglaries that happened overnight in Moody. Homewood police Sgt. Mark Trippe said officers tried to stop a vehicle Thursday in the 200 block of Robert Jemison Road. The officers suspected someone in the vehicle was being sought by U.S. Marshals on multiple federal arrest warrants.The pursuit continued until coming to an end on 27th Street North near 22nd Avenue in Birmingham.
Of the 10 guns seized from the vehicle, three were confirmed stolen, Trippe said. Paul Gilbert Hinkle, 36, of Birmingham, is charged with felony attempting to elude, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and second-degree receiving stolen property. He had outstanding warrants from the U.S. Marshals on a weapons offense, as well multiple burglary charges from three different Mississippi counties. Rashawn Rodrekus Taylor, 24, of Tuscaloosa, is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and second-degree receiving stolen property
