Spurs Could Help Facilitate Russell Westbrook-Kyrie Irving Trade For Nets, Lakers - RealGM Wiretap
The Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets are looking at potentially pulling in the San Antonio Spurs to help facilitate a deal for Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving, sources told Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report.
With the Nets not currently interested in acquiring Westbrook in return for Irving, the Spurs could take on Westbrook's contract in exchange for draft compensation. The three-team deal could also give the Nets a trade exception worth as much as Irving's salary. The Spurs would need to clear out salary to acquire Westbrook, with Doug McDermott, Josh Richardson, and Jakob Poetl considered to be available.
