Wolverine no longer has Marvel's ultimate healing factor. As of Venom 20 - out now - that title goes to Venom, whose new 'Human Symbiote' title has unlocked total control of his body that persists even after death.
Wolverine's healing factor is being put to shame thanks to Marvel's newest healing factor display by Venom. Venom #20 has revealed an overwhelming shift in the titular hero's abilities thanks to the return of Eddie Brock. It seems highly possible that Eddie has undergone a major change no one expected.
There have been numerous shifts in the Venom symbiote's activities thanks to the presence of Dylan Brock and defeat of Knull. Dylan had taken over use of the Venom symbiote, becoming Codex, when previously his father - Eddie - had been the primary host. This makes Eddie's new healing ability and return even more intense, since it ties into his new role as the King in Black. Venom #20 has the creative team of Al Ewing, Cafu, Frank D'Armata, and Clayton Cowles.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Symbiote Healing Factors are More Potent Than Initially Believed While it is known that symbiotes have regenerative abilities, Eddie is technically not currently bonded to a specific symbiote. Even the scientists at the Absent Throne's labs are confused, referring to the fact that there is no symbiote material present in Eddie's bones.
Marvel's Former Venom is a Symbiote Hybrid Becoming the King in Black and no longer needing the Venom symbiote himself, Eddie calls himself a "human symbiote." This implies he has assimilated some symbiote abilities despite having a human form. The full extent of his abilities is unknown, but his healing factor rivals - and even surpasses - Wolverine's. He used to require a symbiote partner to regenerate; now he can seemingly do it alone as a kind of symbiote god.
Eddie's new abilities surpass the klyntar's typical species conventions. Knull was incredibly powerful, showing that being a King in Black affords more capabilities than the average symbiote Taking this role may not have been Eddie's original plan. Still, it will be exciting to see him thwarting the alternate versions of himself that are getting in his way. Nimrod may have reduced Wolverine numerous times, but usually with more residue than the Absent Throne left Eddie to work with.
