CLEVELAND , Ohio - In Cleveland , the masked criminals carjacking unsuspecting victims, terrorizing families, and shooting people on the street are often just teenagers.“I feel like it’s part of why juveniles feel like they have the courage to go do these kinds of things because they think, ‘Oh, I’ll be able to get out,’” said Elena Donofrio who was carjacked by a teen in Little Italy.
Danica Jankovich’s son was killed by two teenagers who were drag racing through Slavic Village. After they hit Jankovich’s son and girlfriend, they took off without calling for help. As many as 140 Cleveland police officers have received crisis intervention training. Our judges must not and will not be swayed by pressure from either direction. They will continue to look at each case individually and determine what is best for the community and the child before them.”“If we’re not teaching them as juveniles right from wrong, what chance do we have when they become adults?” O’Malley said.
Three months later that same kid ran a red light in a stolen car and crashed into another car. One of the teens in the car with him died, and the driver of the other car was seriously hurt.
